There is a litter problem in Lawrence! I believe that additional trash and recycling bins would make an impact on this. I notice it in my neighborhood of Mt. Vernon, mainly along South Broadway and over the bridge that goes over the train tracks. But truthfully, it’s more widespread. And will not be solved without the convenience that municipal bins could provide.

I think that having more courts available for the kids will allow them to stay out of bad activities and enjoy playing sports among their neighbors.

The clean up is the stage one of an operation that came to my mind which consists of cleaning up different places of our city and picking up any trash that is left at the front of our houses. We can't control people leaving trash around our city, but I think we can influence them. There is a hashtag trending right now called the #Trashtag research it or google it. I say let's use it, let's use the hashtag #TrashtagitLawrence978 to stand out. Let's unite, gather and have meetings on where to go and how to do things. The Facebook -GROUP- page is called TrashtagitLawrence978 everybody is welcome to join, is public. This is all independent from the City, independent from our government. It would be amazing if we get funds but creating an organization is too much work. Our residents can hit us up and post photos and donate plastic bags, gloves and other materials. We just need to organize and be the change we want to see in the city of Lawrence, because United we will always be stronger.
