
Today marks the 30th Anniversary of one of the darkest days in the history of the Department. Officer Thomas Duggan Sr. was tragically and senselessly killed in the line duty on Friday March 16, 1990.
Officer Duggan made a traffic stop on his way to court and was assaulted with a baseball bat during that stop. The assault took place one block from the police department. Officer Duggan died of injuries sustained in the attack. His attackers were found not guilty of murder due to a technicality. He was 47 years of age and had 19 years of Service
