SECOND SUSPECT IN LAWRENCE HOMICIDE ARRAIGNED
A 30-year old man was arraigned yesterday in Lawrence District Court in connection with the shooting death of a 48-year old Lynn man in Lawrence on June 18, 2019
Devin A. Hayes (DOB: 3/23/1989) is charged with the murder of Ellis J. Wright, who was found deceased in a parking lot near 85 Manchester Street in Lawrence on the morning of June 19, 2019.
Judge Jennifer Queally ordered the defendant held without bail without prejudice. The case is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on January 22, 2020.
His co-defendant, Niko Bianco, 22, of Amesbury, was arrested in Manchester, NH on June 20th. He was indicted for murder and armed assault with intent to rob on October 3rd. He remains held without bail. His case is schedule for a motions hearing on January 8, 2020.
Essex State Police, Lawrence and Haverhill Police detectives, were assisted by the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section in locating and apprehending the suspect Monday morning. He was taken into custody without incident.
This matter remains under investigation so there will be no further comment.
The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
