Lawrence Police have arrested Derek Thompson, age 35, of North Andover charging him with attempt to commit a crime. In recent days the Lawrence Police have been on the lookout for an individual traveling on a bike in the Prospect Hill area, trying door handles of cars. This individual has been seen on camera committing the act. Officers Edward Mejia, Shaun Gravel, Keith Salach and Sgt. Arial Montas responded to the Berkley Street area for a report of a suspicious male fitting the suspect’s description traveling on a bike with a flash light trying car doors to find unlocked doors. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was arraigned in Lawrence District Court.
