[ARCHIVED] Suspect in Last Friday's Shooting in Custody

Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office and members of the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section arrested Jose L. Rivera, 36, of Lawrence in Dorchester last  evening.  He is charged with 3 counts of armed assault to murder, assault & battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm with 2 prior violent/drug crimes.  He will be arraigned in Lawrence District Court today.  The investigation was conducted by Lawrence Police Detectives and Massachusetts  State Police Detectives assigned to the Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett's Office

 The 16-year old female victim remains in a Boston hospital.
