LAWRENCE

Last Evening while on routine patrol, Officer Carlos Garcia observed Christian Ramos age 19 of Lawrence walking in the area of Jackson and Essex Street. Officer Garcia recognized Ramos and knew he was an individual who had an active warrant for his arrest. He also recognized him as an individual who was brandishing a gun in a video disseminated to members of the department by Detective Sean O’Keefe of the LPD Gang Unit.

Ramos fled the scene on foot as Officers approached him. During the foot pursuit, Officer Luis Olivio observed Ramos drop a firearm on Essex St. Ramos was taken into custody by Sgt. Shawn Quaglietta and Officer Luis Moreta a short distance away. He was arraigned this morning in Lawrence District Court charged with: disorderly conduct, trespassing, assault and battery on a police officer, and several firearms related charges.
