On Sunday November 19th at approximately 7:45 PM Lawrence Police responded to a Salem Street address for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival Officers encountered a 21 year old Lawrence man with a non life-threatening bullet wound to his leg. He was treated on scene by Paramedic and EMTs from Lawrence General Hospital and was transported by ambulance to that facility.
Later in the evening Lawrence Police received a call from Holy Family Hospital regarding a 24 year old Lawrence male who arrived at that facility with a non life-threatening gun shot wound to his leg. Through the initial investigation it was determined that this individual obtained his injury during the same incident.
Based on the initial investigation, this is not believed to be a random act of violence as all parties were known to each other. As a result of the investigation Luis Roman age 18 of Lawrence and Christopher Perez age 21 of Lawrence were arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder and armed robbery.
